Therapeutic design across a full spectrum of care
We recognize the rapidly increasing need for behavioral health care across an expanding spectrum of care delivery models as more and more people seek support in response to a constantly changing, stressful world. The foundation of our collaborative design process is an awareness that the physical environment plays a vital role in benefiting therapeutic techniques and outcomes.
Prioritizing safety in all aspects of our behavioral health care design, we create healing experiences for all. We are sensitive to the importance of biologically informed environments in which visual interest and variable lighting are key to therapy and recovery. We value the wellness and wellbeing of caregivers, whether they are staff or family members, through the inclusion of supportive work areas and restorative spaces.
Our behavioral health care design experience ranges from inpatient unit renovations and emergency department secure holding suites, to adult and pediatric outpatient therapy and addiction clinics, to new models of care such as crisis receiving centers and crisis stabilization units, including the first emPATH unit in the state of Virginia. Constantly evolving alongside the models of care, we regard our behavioral healthcare portfolio as an expression of our social responsibility to our community as architects.
